Description
Liquid smoke is a flavoring agent made by condensing the smoke produced by burned wood and filtered to remove impurities. Commonly used in hot dogs, beef jerky, barbecue sauces, applewood-smoked bacon, baked beans and vegetables.
Application:
Use 1/4 teaspoon (or less) in your recipes. Add more to adjust to your taste preferences. For a more subtle flavor, dilute the liquid smoke with some water or vinegar. Used as a substitute for bacon in recipes that employ the cured pork for its smoky taste, marinades and sauces. Brush liquid smoke on meats like steaks, burgers or even deli meats to add more depth to the flavor.
