Cinnamon sticks, often referred to as quills, are hollow rolled pieces of tree bark. The surface of the stick is red-brown and rough to the touch. Inside, Cinnamon sticks bear a darker, grey-brown hue with a smooth and powdery texture. Cinnamon is made by cutting the stems of cinnamon trees. The inner bark is then extracted and the woody parts removed. When it dries, it forms strips that curl into rolls, called cinnamon sticks. These sticks can be ground to form cinnamon powder.
