Dry Shirataki Rice is a low carb rice substitute, high in fiber and low in calories. It is primarily made from Konjac, a root vegetable native to Southeast Asia. It has a lot of great health benefits, thus earning the nicknames “miracle rice” and “skinny rice”.
DRY SHIRATAKI RICE BENEFITS:
HOW TO PREPARE:
Just like regular rice, wash the shirataki rice until clean. Put shirataki and water with a ratio of 1:2 or 1:3, cook the rice for about 30 minutes.
RICE COOKER:
Step 1. Put 1 cup of shirataki rice in a bowl to wash it.
Step 2. Wash the shirataki rice until clean, or for about 2 to 3 times, and then drain the water.
Step 3. Put the shirataki rice in the rice cooker and add 3 cups of water.
Step 4. Cook the rice for about 30 minutes. Shirataki rice is ready to eat!
SAUCEPAN
Step 1. Put 1 cup of shirataki rice in a bowl to wash it.
Step 2. Wash the shirataki rice until clean, or for about 2 to 3 times, and then drain the water.
Step 3. Boil 3 cups of water in the saucepan.
Step 4. Once the water is boiled, put the washed shirataki rice in the water.
Step 5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, and then drain the rice.
Step 6. In a non-stick frying pan, fry the rice at low heat for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the rice is firmer to the touch.
Step 7. Put the rice on a plate and it’s ready to eat!
