Primero Pro Flexible Joint Compound

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Surface must be clean, dry and free from dirt, dust and grease. Sand surface lightly. Inspect walls and ceilings to make sure that all of the screws are firmly embedded. Surfaces that are chalking and crumbling must be removed by sanding or scraping.

NOTE: Products is ready to use. However, if settling occurs, mix with a broad wooden stick.

APPLICATION FOR WALL & CEILING JOINTS:

Using a metal spreader, apply a thin layer of Primero Pro Flexible Joint Compound into the seam, pressing firmly to prevent air sockets. Spread compound along the seams to make a smooth surface. Let dry for 15 to 30 minutes, 1 hour if seams are deep. After first layer has dried, apply second coat along the seams in along, smooth stroke. Make sure that edges are smooth and there are no lines or streaks on the compound. This is to minimize sanding and produces better painting results.

APPLICATION w/ MESH TAPE:

Apply a thin layer of Primero Pro Flexible Joint Compound along the seams about 1.5” to 2” wide on each side of the board. Immediately apply 2” mesh tape and press down onto the joint. Make sure that mesh tape is flat on the wall. Let dry for 30 to 60 minutes. Apply second coat of flexible joint compound to cover the mesh tape. Smoothen edges to minimize sanding. Let dry for 3 to 4 hours. Sand lightly with grit 150 or 180 sandpaper. Then apply desired paint.

For overnight or long term storage, fill tub with clean water to cover compound. When ready to use, discard water, mix with mixing paddle until homogenous.

FOR WATERPROOFING OF ROOF DECKS & BALCONIES:

Drying time will be longer in enclosed areas such as bathrooms and underground tanks. Make sure area is well- ventilated. A PPLY third coat if area is subject to heavy load or if machines like air handling units, pumps or exhaust fans are near. Top at least 1-inch-thick cement topping for balconies with heavy foot traffic.

PRECAUTIONS:

Keep out of reach of children. Store in room temperature. Keep away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Keep container closed when not in use.

USES:

For the filling, topping, skimming of joints on walls and ceilings on fiber cement boards, gypsum boards, plywood, cement and other building materials.
