Product description
Solanum (scientific name: Solanum melongena L.) Solanaceae, a plant of the genus Solanum. Eggplant erect branching herb to subshrubs, up to 1 meter high, branchlets, petioles and pedicels are all branched by 6-8-(10), flat or short-stalked stellate hairs, branchlets are mostly purple (wild There are often prickles), and the hair will gradually fall off as it grows old. The leaves are large, ovate to oblong-ovate, and the petiole is about 2-4.5 cm long (wild prickly). The fertile flower is solitary, the flower stalk is about 1-1.8 cm long, and the hair is dense. The shape and size of the fruit vary greatly. The shape of the fruit is long or round, and the colors are white, red, purple and so on.
Fruits can be eaten as vegetables. The roots, stems, and leaves are used as medicines, which are astringents and have diuretic effects. The leaves can also be used as anesthetics. The seeds are used as anti-tumor drugs and as irritants, but they are easy to cause stomach weakness and constipation. Fruits eaten raw can detoxify edible fungi.
Temperature: Eggplant likes high temperature. The suitable temperature for seed germination is 25°C-30°C. The optimal temperature for seedling development is 25°C-30°C during the day and 15°C-20°C at night. Below 15°C, it grows slowly and causes flower drop. Metabolism is imbalanced below 10 degrees Celsius.
Light: Eggplant has higher requirements for light time and intensity. Under the conditions of long sunshine and high intensity, eggplants grow vigorously, with good flower bud quality, high fruit yield and good coloring.
Moisture: Before the eggplant is formed, less water is required, and after the eggplant grows quickly, it needs more water. The water requirement is the largest before and after the eggplant is harvested, and the water requirement must be fully met. Eggplant loves water but is afraid of water. When the soil is moist and poorly ventilated, it is easy to cause retting, and the air humidity is prone to disease.
Soil: Suitable for cultivation in soil rich in organic matter and strong in water and fertilizer retention. Eggplant has higher requirements for nitrogen fertilizer. When nitrogen is deficient, the differentiation of flower buds is delayed, and the number of flowers is significantly reduced. Especially in the blooming period, if there is insufficient nitrogen, short styloid flowers will increase and plant development will not be good. Under the condition of low nitrogen fertilizer level, the effect of phosphate fertilizer is not significant, and the absorption of potassium increases sharply in the later period.
Place the seeds in warm water at 55-60°C. Stir constantly until the water temperature is 30°C, then soak for 2 hours. The seeds were taken out and air-dried for a while, soaked in a 200 mg/kg gibberellin solution for 24 hours, and then germinated.
The sowing box surface is made into 1 meter wide, flat and finely crushed surface with edges on both sides. Before planting, pour the sole water, and after the water seeps, the sterilized and soaked seeds will be mixed with sand for sowing. Then cover the soil 1 cm thick. In dry years, if the bed soil is too dry before emergence, water 1-2 times to keep the bed soil moist to promote rapid emergence.
After all seedlings emerge, the seedlings should be timed out, and the seedlings that are too dense and diseased should be eliminated. The seedlings can be divided before and after the two true leaf stage, so that the distance between the seedlings can be widened to about 8-12 cm. A 9 cm × 9 cm nutrient cup can be used to ensure that the seedlings have a certain nutrient area.
