Perennial upright herb, 30-60cm tall. The rhizome is skewed and covered with villi. The stem is unbranched, with a purple base and densely covered with long, multicellular, soft, brownish hairs. It is the whole plant of Senecio hunanensis, a member of the family Senecio.
