Guava can be planted all year round, but the best sowing time is from February to April in spring. The climate in this season is most suitable for seed germination, and both the temperature and humidity are very suitable for seed germination. Of course, the climate and environment in different regions are different, so the sowing time will naturally vary, depending on the situation.
2. Seed selection and germination
The most important thing in planting guava is to choose high-quality seeds for sowing. Only good seeds can bring a higher germination rate, so as to make a good start, and then the plants can grow more smoothly. Guava seeds have a hard shell and need to be treated before sowing. The seeds should be soaked in gibberellin for about 12 hours and then taken out before sowing.
Guava likes light but is afraid of wind. It should be planted in a sunny and sheltered place, and it is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained sandy soil. Before sowing, the soil should be plowed deeply to ensure better loosening and ventilation.
Guava generally adopts the method of sowing, and the seeds are evenly scattered in the prepared land, covered with a thin layer of soil, and the covering soil should not be too thick, otherwise it will not be conducive to germination. After sowing, it should be watered thoroughly, covered with grass curtains to keep moisture, and maintenance work should be done to ensure that the seeds can germinate faster and better.
