•Remove the Old Grips:If you have rubber grips, slice them off using a utility knife or scissors. For integral-tube style grips (which have a throttle sleeve built into the right grip), you’ll need to disassemble the controls.Keep in mind that some bikes use cable-operated throttles, while others are “fly-by-wire” with an electrical signal to the throttle motor.
•Clean the Adhesive from the Handlebar:Use a clean cloth and some rubbing alcohol to remove any residue left behind by the old grips.
•Fit the New Grips:Slide the new grips onto your handlebars and throttle tube. For rubber grips, you can reuse the existing throttle sleeve. For integral-style grips, ensure that the throttle sleeve is properly aligned.
•Optional: Use Compressed Air or Lubricants:If you’re having trouble sliding the grips on, try using compressed air to help seat them.Alternatively, apply a small amount of grip glue to the inside of the grips for a secure fit.
•Optional: Add Grip Glue:If you want extra security, apply grip glue to the handlebars before sliding on the new grips.
