Product description
RAYHAYES RD-1 is a unidirectional (cardioid) dynamic vocal microphone for professional vocals, used for sound enhancement and studio recording.
Efficient, built-in spherical filter minimizes wind and breath "pop" noise.
The cardioid pickup pattern isolates the main sound source while minimizing background noise.
The RD-1 features a modified vocal response for world-standard sounds.
Rugged construction, a proven shock mount system and wire mesh grille ensure the RD-1 delivers consistent performance even in harsh environments.
Outdoor or indoor, singing or speaking, the RD-1 is ideal for the vast majority of professionals worldwide.
• Proven performance, industry standard
• Consistent cardioid polarities for maximum gain before feedback and effective suppression of off-axis coloration
• Corrected frequency response specially designed for vocals, with bright mid-range and low-frequency roll-off for effective control of proximity effects
• Advanced gas-filled shock absorption system to minimize mechanical noise and vibration
• Steel grille and ceramic-coated metal construction are durable and wear-resistant
• Effective built-in pop filter reduces unwanted wind and breath noise
• Switch for longevity in the most frequent use cases
• RAYHAYES high quality, high reliability and durability
Placing General Rules of Use
• Aim the microphone at the sound source to be recorded (eg a talker, singer, or musical instrument) and away from other sound sources.
• Place the microphone as close as possible to the source of the sound to be recorded.
• If you want more low frequency response, move the microphone closer to the sound source.
• Use only one microphone to pick up a single sound source.
• Minimize the number of microphones used.
• Keep the distance between microphones at least three times the distance between each microphone and its sound source.
• Position the microphone as far as possible from reflective surfaces.
• Add a windscreen when using the microphone outdoors.
• Avoid excessive touch, pick up mechanical and vibration noise to a minimum.
• Never cover any part of the microphone filter with your hands as this will affect microphone performance.
