Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil: It is an oil produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, endemic to Morocco. Pure and natural Argan Oil has been used in Morocco for centuries to nourish and protect the skin, hair, and nails. • Argan oil contains natural tocopherols (vitamin E), essential fatty acids, and antioxidants. Argan Oil is ideal for all skin types, including the most sensitive skins. It is an excellent moisturizing emollient for dry, rough skin and can also be used to add a beautiful healthy sheen to hair, leaving it feeling silky soft, and smooth. Clinically proven as an anti-aging tool by promoting production of collagen in the skin therefore effectively fights against free radicals responsible for facial wrinkles, neckline, and the signs of aging throughout the body. Argan oil leaves the skin soft and nourished with more natural elasticity whilst also restoring vitality to the nails.
Silicones (Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane): The ingredients have a unique fluidity that makes them easily spreadable. When applied to the skin and hair, it gives a silky and slippery feeling to the touch and acts as a mild water repellent by forming a protective barrier on the skin. It can also fill in fine lines and wrinkles, giving the face a temporary “plump” look. Isopropyl Myristate: It reduces the greasy feel caused by the high oil content of other ingredients in a product. This also gives a slicker; sheer feel rather than an oily one. It is easily absorbed by the skin, ensuring quick penetration of a formula’s ingredients.
Tocopherol: Its substantiated benefits include enhancing the efficacy of active sunscreen ingredients, reducing the formation of free radicals from exposure to UV rays, promoting the healing process, strengthening the skin’s barrier function, protecting the skin barrier’s lipid balance, and reducing transepidermal water loss.
Ascorbyl Palmitate: It’s an effective collagen builder and free-radical scavenging ingredient essential to healthy skin. With the advantage of being lipid (fat) soluble, it can penetrate the skin and deliver antioxidants faster than the water-soluble forms of Vitamin C. This, in turn, helps prevent cellular aging by inhibiting the cross-linking of collagen, oxidation of proteins, and lipid peroxidation. Furthermore, it’s been shown to work synergistically with the antioxidant Vitamin E.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter): Firstly, it helps retain moisture and lessen water loss by forming a barrier on the skin’s surface. Secondly, it also reduces the appearance of rough patches and dry flakes on the skin. The moisturizers in shea butter are the same as those produced by the skin's sebaceous glands. In fact, because its structure and function resemble that of the lipid content of the skin, shea butter is considered to be a Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF). As an NMF, it helps keep the intercellular structure of the epidermis intact, effectively keeps bacteria out, facilitates the skin’s healing process, prevents dermal irritation, and regenerates the skin.
