Instruction:
How to season your cast iron skillet on gas stovetop
Get your cast iron and wipe away any dust and unwanted debris
Pre-heat your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Grab your cooking oil with a high smoke point (Canola Oil, Sesame Oil, Peanut Oil, Sunflower Oil).
Apply thin layer of oil on the inside and outside of the cast iron, make sure to put also on the handle.
Allow the skillet to dry out on the stovetop.
Repeat this process until skillet looks glossy, smooth, dark and is not sticky for about 3 times.
Let it cool and rub with final light coat of oil and store in a dry place.
How to season your cast iron skillet in oven
Get your cast iron and wipe away any dust and unwanted debris.
Pre-heat your oven to 300degrees.
Grab your cooking oil with a high smoke point (Canola oil, Sesame Oil, Peanut Oil, Sunflower Oil).
Apply thin layer of oil on the inside and outside of the cast iron, make sure to put also on the handle.
Put your cast iron in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove the cast iron and wipe away any excess oil.
Heat the oven up to 400 degrees. Put the cast iron back in for 1 hour and don't open the oven.
Take it our and let it cool.
How to maintain Cast Iron Skillet/Care and Maintenance
Rinse the cast iron with warm water then apply a small amount of soap.
Gently scrub the surface until you fully removed stuck-on food.
If rinsing and scrubbing aren't enough, pour a few tablespoons of canola oil and salt into the pan and use a paper towel to scrub the pan, then rinse.
Dry the pan with clean towel.
Place the pan onto the stove over low heat.
Coat the surface of the pan with thin layer of oil.
Cool the pan before storage.
Store the pan in a dry place away from moisture of oil.
