Why do I need this Mebendazole?
Mebendazole (Antiox generic) )is prescribed to address various intestinal parasitic worm
infections, including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, and pinworm.
How do I take Mebendazole (Antiox generic)?
Follow your doctor's instructions precisely, whether from the label or their guidance. Maintain
consistency in your dosage regimen, ideally at the same time daily. Mebendazole comes in
tablet, chewable tablet, or oral suspension forms.
If you miss a dose, take it promptly upon recollection. However, if it's nearly time for your next
dose, skip the missed one. Never double up on doses.
When should I not use this medicine?
Avoid Mebendazole if you've had allergic reactions to it or any components, are pregnant, or
planning pregnancy soon. It's also not advisable to take it alongside metronidazole.
Precautions and Considerations
Notify your doctor about certain conditions, like Crohn's ileitis, ulcerative colitis, or liver disease. If you're breastfeeding, consult your doctor. Regular blood tests may be necessary with prolonged or high-dose use.
Mebendazole may prompt abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, among other side effects. Severe reactions like skin rashes or decreases in white blood cell count require
immediate medical attention.
Avoid concurrent use of Mebendazole and metronidazole. Inform your healthcare provider if
you're taking cimetidine or any other medications.
Abstain from alcohol consumption while on Mebendazole treatment.
Store Mebendazole in a cool, dry place beyond children's reach.
