Our seeds are originally sourced from our local farmers and very suitable to grow here in the PH. Germination rate is 80-95%, given the right soil and care.

 

Used it as a regular pencil, then when it's short enough to be sharpened, just bury the tip in a pot of soil. Provide water, sunlight, and a whole lot of love.

 

What is a Plantable Pencil?

It is a regular pencil but instead of having an eraser, it is tipped with a gelatin capsule containing different herb seeds. You can make a new life when it's too short to use. Instead of being thrown away, the pencil becomes a symbol of sustainability.

 

There are 15 Non-GMO seed varieties you can choose from:

How long does it take for my pencil to germinate?

That depends on the plant variant. One of our fastest and most popular variants are basil, cabbage, spinach, tomato which germinates between five and ten days after planting.

How can I plant my plantable pencil?

1. Put a good potting soil in your pot with a drainage hole at the bottom.

2. Water your soil to moisten it by 20%. Be careful not to overwater the soil for it will be soggy. You may know that the water is too much when the water in the drainage hole at the bottom starts to leak.

3. Time to plant your pencil. Thrust your pencil into the soil (with the capsule facing the soil) at a 30% - 40 % angle. It should not be too deep and the soil should just cover the entire capsule.

4. Keep your plant with natural light, avoid direct sunlight and water your soil everyday. Your plant will appear in 1 to 4 weeks depending on the germination period of your seed.

Why is my plantable pencil taking too long to germinate?

- Germination period primarily depends on the plant variant itself. Generally, it takes one week to a month for the plant to finally sprout. However, other factors may be considered such as the soil type and or quality, water, sunlight, etc.

 

Note: Make sure to plant them within a year after purchase. Avoid pencil tip from getting wet.
