A shuttlecock is a high-drag projectile used in the sport of badminton that has an open conical shape formed by feathers (or synthetic alternatives)
The flight speed of the aircraft is also affected by weather, altitude and temperature. When the weather is hot, the aircraft flies faster; when the weather is cold, the aircraft flies slower. If you are playing in the air-conditioned lobby, please use the slightly faster shuttle. If you are playing at high altitude, use a slower shuttle.
To test the speed of the ball, hit the ball with a full underhand, making contact over the back boundary line. You should hit the ball at an upward angle and parallel to the sideline
A shuttlecock of correct speed will land no less than 530 mm and no more than 990 mm from the back boundary of the badminton court, as shown in the figure below.
