- Different Diameter Choices
Heat-shrink tubingΒ (or, commonly,Β heat shrinkΒ orΒ heatshrink) is a shrinkableΒ plasticΒ tube used to insulate wires, providing abrasion resistance and environmental protection for stranded and solid wire conductors, connections, joints and terminals inΒ electrical work. It can also be used to repair the insulation on wires or to bundle them together, to protect wires or small parts from minorΒ abrasion, and to create cable entry seals, offering environmental sealing protection. Heat-shrink tubing is ordinarily made ofΒ polyolefin, which shrinks radially (but not longitudinally) when heated, to between one-half and one-sixth of its diameter.

- Please note that the correct measuring of the size is when the tubing is in CIRCLE form and NOT WHEN IT'S FLAT (as some are supplied flat due to their size). DIAMETERΒ can only be measured on CIRCLE objects or surfaces. Thank you :)
- To get the correct sizeΒ for your application is to first measure the diameter of the object you will be applying it on to, then choose the diameter here, double of the size you will get. This is simply because the unheated heat shrink (what we sell here), can shrink upto half its size.
