How to Create a Subtle Eye Look
Step 1: Choose Your Base Shade
Select an eyeshadow close to your skin tone to ensure a clean base. Moisturize if necessary, and apply an eyeshadow primer, concealer, or a foundation that matches your skin tone.
Step 2: Layer and Blend
Start with the lightest shade at your inner eye and blend outwards until the transition is seamless. Progressively use a slightly darker shade, beginning at the edge of the previous color, blending outwards. Continue with darker shades, each time starting further out and blending thoroughly. Finish with the darkest shade to define the upper 'V' of your eye.
Step 3: Define the Look
For a more defined effect, choose a single shade. Blend it extensively across the crease and add a bit more at the upper 'V'. Use a thick, round brush in circular motions. This will create a visible but subtle circle of eyeshadow.
Step 4: Soft Smoky Crease
Apply a shadow slightly darker than your skin tone along the crease. Use a cotton swab or thick brush to blend this upward almost to your brow bone, creating a smoky effect.
Step 5: Brighten the Corners
Brighten your eyes by dabbing a small dot of white or light tan eyeshadow near the tear ducts at the corner of your eye.
