The previous generation of KURU TOGA rotating pencils rotate every 9 °, such as M5-452. This KURU TOGA ADVANCE pencil is more sensitive with each rotation of 18 °, and the written text is clearer and cleaner.

There are 3 gears inside the pencil, and the intermediate gear is connected to the lead. Through writing, longitudinal movement and pen pressure generated during the oblique meshing with the other two gears, each time the pen core of the intermediate gear falls to drive the pen tip to rotate slightly. Each stroke rotates about 18 °, and 20 strokes complete one rotation.
